Peacefully passed away after a courageous battle with cancer, on May 20, 2009, at the age of 61. Predeceased by husband Jerry Brooks. Survived by her mother-in-law May Jones. Loving mother of Kim (Craig) Nugent and Stacey Brooks. Devoted Nanny of Carter, Faith and Callie. Beloved sister of Charles (Irene) Doubrough, and by her late twin sister Jenny (John) Scott. Will be missed by best friend Bob Brooks, also by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. A special thanks to Dr. Peter Ellis and the nursing staff at the Juravinski Cancer Centre. Visitation will be held at Markey-Dermody Funeral Home, 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth), Hamilton, Ontario, on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, May 23, 2009, at 11 a.m. Cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Cancer Assistance Program would be appreciated.
